About This Site

My name is Melanie and I’m a Mormon. I started this site as a place to post spiritual thoughts during my full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Now I’m back from my mission, but I’d still like to share my testimony and help others to learn more about Jesus Christ. Please have a look around and get in touch if you have any questions. You can also learn more about the Church at http://www.mormon.org.

Here’s a quick tour of the site:

The HOME page is where all the recent posts will show up. The site will show five posts on a page and you can view older posts by clicking the link at the bottom. There’s also a sidebar with Featured Posts (which are just some posts I recommend), a dropdown Archives menu (to view the older posts by month), and my Site Stats.

The MISSION POSTS page is a categories page and shows all of the posts that I wrote while I was serving as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During this time, I was called and authorized by a prophet of God to teach about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The GOSPEL ART page features paintings and scenes which depict the Savior and other gospel themes, along with a few words from me about what that particular theme means to me.

I started the GRATITUDE page quite randomly one day, when I wanted to make a little list of things I’m grateful for. I update it at random and infrequent times, but I expect that it will keep growing.

The last page, TESTIMONIES, brings back great memories for me. While I served as a full-time missionary, I was asked to give tours at some of the Church’s historical sites in upstate New York, where Joseph Smith was born. It was so wonderful to meet with people from all over the world as they saw these places and felt the spirit that was there. On many occasions, I asked visitors to write down a few words about how they felt while visiting the sites. Then I created a slideshow of some of those testimonies to share here on my blog.
